16 Proposals Received for Implementation of Metro Rail Projects: Hardeep Singh Puri – Metro Rail News

Maharashtra filed three projects, while Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Delhi-Haryana-Rajasthan (as a group) submitted two projects.
DELHI (Metro Rail News): Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, stated that 16 proposals for implementing metro rail projects have been received from various state/union territory governments.
According to Hardeep Singh Puri, urban transportation, which is an essential component of urban development, is a government responsibility; various state governments are responsible for starting, constructing, and funding urban transportation infrastructure, including metro rail projects.
According to the Central Government’s Metro Rail Policy-2017, the Central Government considers financial assistance for such projects in cities or urban agglomerates based on the feasibility of the proposal and the availability of resources, as and when posed by the concerned State/Union Territory (UT) Government.
Gujarat’s administration has not submitted a new metro rail proposal for financial support from the central government. The details of the proposal for implementing metro rail projects were given by Delhi, Maharashtra, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Rajasthan.
Furthermore, Delhi, Haryana, and Rajasthan jointly submitted a plan for the Delhi-SNB Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), which will serve the cities of Delhi, Gurugram, and Shahjahanpur. Same with Delhi and Haryana for Delhi-Panipat Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) that will cover Delhi, Sonipat, Panipat cities.
