Govt extends period of retention of bungalow allotted to IWPC in Delhi till July 31
The government has extended the period of retention of the bungalow allotted to the Indian Women’s Press Corps (IWPC) at Windsor Place in Lutyens’ Delhi till July 31, according to an official document. A letter issued by the directorate of estates on May 4 has, however, also asked the IWPC’s president to find a suitable accommodation and arrange to vacate it on or before July 31.

Man sets self afire in south Delhi, dies
A 65-year-old man died after he allegedly set himself on fire in south Delhi’s Sangam Vihar area, police said on Saturday. On Friday around 5 pm, the Tigri police station received information that a person poured petrol on his body and set himself afire in Block A of Sangam Vihar, they said.

Girl, 6, found dead, battered near home in Manesar
A six-year-old girl was found dead with deep injury marks on her body in the IMT Manesar area, police said on Saturday. She was found on Friday near a pile of bricks only a few metres away from her house where her family lived on rent, they said.

3 more arrested by Delhi Police in Jahangirpuri violence case
Police have arrested three more accused in the communal clashes that broke out in northwest Delhi’s Jahangirpuri during a Hanuman Jayanti procession last month, officials said on Saturday. With this, 36 people, including three juveniles, have been nabbed by the police so far.

While Jahir Khan alias Jalil (48) and Anabul alias Sheikh (32) were nabbed from Jahangirpuri on Friday, the third accused, Tabrez (40), was arrested from the same area on Saturday, they said.

Both Jahir Khan and Anabul were absconding since the day of the clashes.
