Delhi govt seeks information from associations on redevelopment of prominent markets
The Delhi government has started the process of shortlisting five prominent retail markets for redevelopment and sought information from market associations across the city. The suggestions from market associations have been sought and the same could be furnished online through the official portal of the Delhi government latest by May 6, officials said.

“If you are a part of any historic and reputed market of Delhi and want your market to be selected in the first phase, please send your suggestions to the Delhi government via your market association,” stated an official weblink of the Delhi government portal.
We held meetings with the officials in different departments. The complaints of encroachments were assessed and areas that need attention have been identified. Currently, our officials are making announcements in the various areas so the people there get time to remove the encroachments.
3 corporations decide to remove encroachments across Delhi
The three municipal corporations of Delhi are all gearing up to carry out demolition drives in their areas next week. The enthusiasm follows Delhi BJP chief Adesh Gupta writing to the mayors on identifying and bulldozing illegal encroachments under their jurisdiction. The issue has a touch of controversy to it, coming as it does just a few days from the anti-encroachment exercise in riot-hit Jahangirpuri.
I am told by engineers here that nearly 1,550 litre fuel is burnt by commuters daily while waiting at the Ashram crossing only. It will also reduce the emission of 3,600 kg of carbon gas.Now all this fuel and money along with travelling time will be saved. It will benefit lakhs of commuters of Delhi.

– The 410-metre-long underpass has missed several deadlines. Its foundation stone was laid by chief minister Arvind Kejriwal in December 2019.

– The intersection is an important link between central and south Delhi and is also an essential link to Mathura Road and NCR towns of Noida and Faridabad.

– The key underpass is covered with a roof to avoid rainwater entering the underpass and causing waterlogging. It starts from New Friends Colony towards Bhogal; both carriageways provide a four-lane road stretch for commuters.

Four held after BJP leader shot dead in Delhi
Delhi police arrested four accused in connection with the murder of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader who was shot dead in Mayur Vihar Phase 3 on April 20, informed police on Saturday. Police identified the accused as Ujjwal alias Gaurav, Raja, Bittu and Saurabh Kataria.Earlier on April 20, a Police Control Room (PCR) call was received in Ghazipur police station regarding the incident, the Deputy commissioner of police (east) Priyanka Kashyap said.
Two arrested for murder in Delhi’s Karala
Two men have been arrested for allegedly killing a person over a personal issue in northwest Delhi’s Karala area, police said on Saturday. According to the police, the victim’s naked body was found at a vacant plot filled with water in Vardhman Enclave, Shiv Vihar, Karala, on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Joginder of Shiv Vihar, and a case was registered and an investigation initiated, they said.During the investigation, the police arrested two people based on CCTV footage, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) Pranav Tayal said.
AIIMS nursing staff protest in OT, get notice
On Saturday, the AIIMS administration issued a show-cause notice to some of its nursing officers for protests in the main operation theatre (OT), which led to the cancellation of over 50 planned surgeries a day before.

This included surgeries scheduled by several departments, including paediatric surgery, general surgery, gynaecology and urology, among others.

An FIR has also been filed at Hauz Khas police station by the security section of the institute against members of the AIIMS nursing union.

But we do have interventions such as rehab interventions or self-management techniques in order to help people improve their quality of life, while they still have the symptoms that have not yet fully recovered. AIIMS hints at new Covid complication
In the last few months, AIIMS has come across at least 30 patients who developed symptoms associated with autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and Sjogren’s syndrome within weeks of getting Covid-19.

These patients are currently under treatment, said Dr Uma Kumar, professor and head of rheumatology at the institute. Whether these are isolated cases and signs of new types of post-Covid complications is yet to be confirmed, Dr Kumar added.
Delhi: Two kill man over personal enmity, held
Delhi Police has arrested two men for allegedly bludgeoning a man to death in Kanjhawala’s Shiv Vihar on Tuesday. Police said that the murder was a fallout of personal enmity. The victim was killed as he had objected to one of the accused befriending his mother and sister.

The two arrested men have been identified as Rajkumar alias Raman from Baldev Vihar in Karala and his associate Kartik, who lives at Mangal Bazar Road in Begumpur. The two men have no previous involvement, police said.
Delhi: Finish flyover repair in time, says Manish Sisodia
Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, who also holds the charge of the Public Works Department, has approved the repair work of three more flyovers on Saturday.

According to a statement from the PWD minister, the three flyovers added to the list are Nangloi flyover, Hanuman Setu flyover and Mayapuri flyover.

Sisodia held a review meeting with officials on the maintenance works of flyovers in Delhi and asked the department to speed up work so as not to put the public in inconvenience.
Undertrial escapes from Delhi Police custody
An undertrial prisoner escaped from the custody of a police constable from Karkardooma Court in east Delhi, police said on Saturday. The incident took place on Friday, they said.According to the police, Mohit, a resident of Badani village in Jhajjar district, Haryana, escaped from the custody of a constable of third battalion of Delhi Police. Mohit was produced in the Karkardooma court in a case lodged at G T B Enclave Police Station. Just after the hearing, around 1.20 pm, he escaped from the custody of the constable, police said.
