2 women held at Delhi airport by CISF with fake US visas
Two Indian women were apprehended by the CISF at the Delhi airport on Wednesday for allegedly using fake US visas for travel, officials said. The women were initially seen exchanging some documents with a man in a suspicious manner at the terminal-III of the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport and subsequently the security officials put them on surveillance, the officials said. A cloud cover over Delhi led to a slight increase in the minimum temperature that settled at 11.5 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal, on Wednesday, officials said. They said a western disturbance affecting northwest India will result in a spell of partly cloudy days and a drizzle on Thursday in the national capital.

Temporary disability not a disqualification for reservation under PWD Act: Delhi HC
The Delhi High Court has ruled that temporary disability is not a disqualification to avail reservation under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act of 2016 and quashed the cancellation of admission granted to a candidate suffering from a visual impairment which was likely to improve.
Delhi Water Minister Satyendar Jain on Wednesday directed officials to use modern technology and upgrade all sewage treatment plants (STPs) and biogas plants in the city within 12 to 15 months. In a meeting focused on upgrading all such plants of the Delhi Jal Board (DJB), it was decided that ‘STP-treated water’ would be supplied to farmhouses in areas such as Satbari, Sultanpur and Jaunpur where groundwater is extracted for horticultural needs.

Observing the immense water-logging in an ancient graveyard in the capital’s Nizamuddin area, the Delhi High Court on Wednesday directed the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) to immediately fix the broken sewage and water pipelines causing damage to the cemetery and adjoining shrine. (IANS)

Delhi witnessed a 16.8-per cent dip in incidents of crime in 2020 as compared to 2019, according to the NCRB, the government informed Parliament on Wednesday. In a written response to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai said the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) compiles the data on crime as reported to it by the states and Union territories, which is published as “Crime in India”. Group of people attack woman, daughter in Delhi’s Shalimar Bagh area
A group of four people, including two women, allegedly attacked a 38-year-old woman and her daughter in northwest Delhi’s Shalimar Bagh area, police said on Wednesday. The entire series of events was caught on a CCTV camera and one of the footages which surfaced on social media showed that just after the woman parked her car, her daughter, who stepped out of the vehicle, was physically assaulted by the accused women. Delhi on toes: Close to 64,000 beds, better oxygen infrastructure
Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal assured Delhi on Tuesday that his government was fully prepared to tackle any resurgence in Covid-19 cases following anxieties fuelled by Omicron, the latest coronavirus variant. After a high-level multi-departmental meeting to review the pandemic situation, Kejriwal assured that 30,000 oxygen-equipped beds, including 10,000 ICU beds, were ready and an additional 6,800 ICU beds would be in place by February for an over 63,800 Covid beds.
