The blistering heatwave sweeping across Delhi-NCR intensified further on Saturday with the maximum temperature in the national capital rising to 42.4 degrees Celsius, the highest in April in five years, and nearing the 45-degree mark in neighbouring Gurugram.

Amid the increasing adoption of electric vehicles, the Delhi Traffic Police has written to the Environment Department, suggesting that adequate number of charging stations be installed in the capital to avoid traffic snarls due to breakdown of ‘uncharged’ EVs.

Burglary at Sonam Kapoor’s Delhi residence, valuables worth Rs 2.4 cr stolen

The national capital is likely to witness heatwave conditions on Saturday, and the maximum temperature may settle around 42 degree Celsius, according to the weather department. The minimum temperature in Delhi this morning was recorded at 19.9 degree Celsius, normal for this time of the season, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. A total of 9 people, including 6 firefighters & a civilian, were injured in a cylinder blast during the firefighting operation in Anand Parvat Industrial Area today morning. All injured are in stable condition. 12 fire tenders were pressed into action to douse the fire.
Five people received minor injuries in a cylinder blast during a firefighting operation in Azad market today. All injured are safe and in stable condition. Disaster management teams called to remove the debris of a collapsed building at the site of the fire.
