Delhi govt collects Rs 1.5 crore as fine in just 2 days due to Covid norm violations – India Today

Amid the increasing threat of the Omicron variant of Corona, the Delhi government has become strict against those who violate the Covid-19 protocols.
The Delhi administration is constantly working towards strict enforcement of Covid norms or Covid appropriate behaviour in the national capital.
The Delhi government has booked a number of violators and collected a fine of Rs 1.5 crore in just two days due to violation of Covid protocols.
The maximum number of cases of violation of Corona guidelines has come from East Delhi and North Delhi. On December 22 and 23, a maximum number of challans were issued to people in East and North Delhi for not wearing masks.
Around 1,245 violations were observed in East Delhi and 1446 in North Delhi, which is the highest among the 11 districts of Delhi.
A total of Rs 1.5 crore has been collected by the administration by imposing a fine in the last two days. Around 7,778 violators were nabbed in cases of not wearing masks, not following social or physical distancing norms and gathering crowds.
Moreover, a total of 163 FIRs have also been registered by officials for violations of Covid protocols.
