The AAP on Tuesday alleged that it was Lt Governor Anil Baijal who consistently opposed the regularisation of services of Kashmiri migrant teachers in Delhi government schools despite a nod by the Arvind Kejriwal-led Cabinet. A call was received at the Samaypur Badli Police Station at 6:34 pm today regarding the falling of three workers of MTNL in a sewer in Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar. On this SHO Samaypur Badli along with investigating officer and beat staff rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area. Fire department officials and ambulance were also present.

Delhi: 2 held with heroin worth over Rs 40 crore
The Delhi Police has arrested two men and recovered heroin worth over Rs 40 crore in the international market from their possession, officials said on Tuesday. The accused has been identified as Dinesh Singh (57) and Nazir alias Nazim (28), both residents of Ghazipur district in Uttar Pradesh, they said. The recovered heroin was smuggled into India from Myanmar via Manipur, police said.

The people who live near the Ghazipur landfill, which is has been burning since Monday noon, are facing difficulty in breathing as smoke has engulfed the entire area. “At around 1:00 am on Monday we saw dense smoke coming out of the dump yard. I live nearby, we are facing difficulty in breathing as the entire area has been engulfed in dense smoke since yesterday,” said Vasudev. Vasudev also said that many fire engines can be seen at the landfill, but there is no relief yet in terms of smoke in the area.

Delhi to implement strict lane rules for buses, goods carriers from April 1
Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot, on Tuesday, announced the implementation of strict lane rules for private buses, goods carriers from April 01, 2022, in the Delhi Assembly.”If a bus driver doesn’t drive in the bus lane, he will be penalised with Rs 10,000 for a first-time offence,” said Kailash Gahlot. “For the second time offence, a case for dangerous driving will be registered against the bus driver,” he added.
Delhi HC dismisses plea against full physical reopening of schools
The Delhi high court Tuesday refused to entertain a public interest litigation against the full physical reopening of schools here in view of the concerns surrounding the spread of Covid-19, saying that there was nothing to show that the right to life of children would be endangered as there was no data to show that children were at a high risk. A bench headed by Acting Chief Justice Vipin Sanghi said that a balance has to be struck and the children were losing more by not attending school. (PTI)
