Come April 1, the transport department of the Delhi government will strictly enforce lane discipline for buses and goods carriers on 15 selected roads in the city, with fines up to Rs 10,000 and six months of imprisonment for errant drivers.

The Delhi government on Wednesday said real-time data on pollution sources in the national capital will be available from August 1.A supersite will be established on Pandara Road in Central Delhi by the end of July to identify sources of pollution in real time, it said after Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal chaired a review meeting with teams from IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) on the ambitious Real Time Source Apportionment System and Pollution Forecasting Project.

Lalu Prasad discharged from AIIMS Delhi
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad, who was brought to AIIMS here on Tuesday, was kept under observation overnight in the emergency department before being discharged at around 3 am, official sources said. The former Bihar chief minister, 73, was brought to AIIMS here at around 9pm on Tuesday after being referred by a medical board of the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi, as his health condition deteriorated there. Delhi on Wednesday recorded a minimum temperature of 18.6 degree Celsius and the maximum temperature is likely to settle around 36 degree Celsius. On Tuesday, the city had recorded a slight decrease in the maximum temperature (34.6 degree Celsius) owing to strong winds during the day.
